Showtime was caught mining cryptocurrency using viewers PCs by integrating Coinhive on their webpage. Is this a new way to monetize websites? I wouldn’t like it to have my CPU being cranked up to make someone else money!

I’m not against this idea in principle. For both websites and free apps it’s much more preferable to advertising and IAP.
However this does require the sites and apps to be owned my companies that care about their customers. I’m sure there’s a million ways to go too far with this.
