I wonder how a service like Uber could affect this. Someone would be paid for deliveries, but not an employee.

Ultimately a project is only successful if it survives the departure of its creator. This requires a critical mass of users, passionate developers and/or committed sponsors i guess.
Jeremy Clarkson is replaceable. He is not the only person in the world who can make fun TV. He does stand out from the other two, but that is because the other two are crap, as is The Stig.
Actually I think the Bad Voltage presenters should be hired by the BBC for the next Top Gear series. Bryan can replace Jeremy Clarkson, because Bryan is awesome. Jeremy Garcia is definitely a Hammond, so that’s easy. Jono can be a May, and Stuart can be a talking version of “The Stig,” which would be awesome.
