I might suggest checking out this presentation deck from author Peter Watts at a recent “Symposium of the
International Association of Privacy Professionals”. It might shed some light on why people are reacting the way they are. @jonobacon especially, even if you still disagree, at least you might see what is driving the other side a bit better.
