Fax Machines
Most of the world has deprecated the fax machine, but not Japan. In Japan fax machines are used much like Back To The Future II showed. Almost every house has one or more fax machines.
Say you want to order a pizza. It is very common there to write your order on a sheet of paper with exact instructions like extra well done, light on the sauce, then fax it to the pizza shop. You might think I am crazy, but this is really how it is there.
