Live Linux on USB, Save Session

One thing I like about Parted Magic on a USB stick is that I can change my settings and screen layout and then save those settings. As long as I don’t do another save it will always come back that way when I reboot. In other words, it has a manual save session mode and forgets everything else.

I know there are distros that have no saving and there are some that are persistent. Are there any other distros that when run from USB flash that allow only manual session saves?
